Kharis Publishing today released Therefore I Think: A Condensed Introduction to Biblical Worldview Thinking, the book those letters became.
The problem it addresses is a familiar one. A student raised in the faith arrives on campus and meets ten disciplines — theology, philosophy, science, psychology, ethics, sociology, law, politics, economics, history — each carrying assumptions about reality that are rarely stated out loud. Most students have never been shown how to name those assumptions, let alone weigh them.
Therefore I Think gives them the tools. Part One walks a biblical worldview through all ten fields. Part Two sets it side by side with secular humanism, discipline by discipline, so readers can compare rather than simply react. Two appendices add a Worldview Assessment Survey and a discussion of problems with spontaneous generation.
The letter format is deliberate, following in the tradition of Richard Maybury’s Uncle Eric series and C. S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters. Each chapter is short, concise, and conversational — designed to start an investigation, not end one.
Gotch writes with unusual credentials for the genre. He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Purdue, taught college chemistry for twenty years across three institutions, chaired a department for nine, and has published twelve peer-reviewed papers.
